Looking Back…

For my last open inquiry post, I decided to look back at some scrapbooks my mom made when I was little.

When I was younger, I remember how much I loved pulling out all the scrapbooks my mom made over the years and slowly going through them, analyzing every picture and carefully reading the text my mom wrote. As seen below, my mom never hesitated to document any moment, no matter how small or big it was. Whether it was my birth, playing in the leaves, or a birthday party, she made sure to scrapbook about it. Whenever I go through the scrapbooks she has made, I always get emotional. I am so glad I could see glimpses of my upbringing and childhood through my mom’s eyes.
Looking forward, I think it would be so cool for my future students to create scrapbooks. It could be for subjects like English to tell a story, art to foster creativity or a technology class, and it could be a digital scrapbook.

I hope to integrate scrapbooking in one way or another in my future classroom and document students’ learning in a fun and creative way.
